CORE Melbourne drops its full timetable, with Mall Grab and Effy closing

Words by staff writer

Kobosil and Jennifer Loveless take the other two closing slots at CORE Melbourne’s sold-out Flemington debut.

CORE Melbourne has released set times for its sold-out Flemington debut on 28 November.

CORE runs three stages at The Nursery, the open-air green space tucked inside Flemington Racecourse, between 2pm and 11pm. Mall Grab and UK DJ Effy go back to back to shut down the main CORE stage, while Kobosil plays the last set on Mano and Jennifer Loveless sees out ORLO. The timetable drop also adds Bibi Seck, Yowies and Adriana b2b Edd Fisher to the bill.

Dino Lenny opens the CORE stage, and Bibi Seck, TSHA, Moodymann and Honey Dijon fill the hours before the Mall Grab and Effy closer. Over on Mano, hosted by Atmosphere, Colombian pair Noise Mafia and Peterblue play together ahead of Daria Kolosova and Kobosil. It’s only the second time Mano has turned up at a CORE event, after a first outing at CORE Los Angeles earlier this year. Hannah D gets two full hours to warm up ORLO before Adriana b2b Edd Fisher, JNETT and Jennifer Loveless take over.

The whole thing began as a stage in the forests of Tomorrowland in Belgium, framed by a splithead structure that Tomorrowland’s own creative team designed. CORE has since grown into its own house and techno brand, with outings at Tomorrowland Winter in Alpe d’Huez, France, plus Medellín and Los Angeles. Melbourne gets the splithead and Mano both. Once Flemington is packed down, CORE heads to the first Tomorrowland Thailand in December and then Tomorrowland Brasil in May 2027.

There’s money in it for kids too. A $30,000 donation is going to the artsbus run by Artists for Kids Culture (AKC), through CORE’s partnership with Framed Agency, which brought the event to Melbourne, and Humanitix, the Australian non-profit ticketing platform that hands 100% of its booking fee profits to charity. It sits alongside the Tomorrowland Foundation’s music and arts schools for young people in Nepal, India, Brazil and South Africa.

On the road since March 2021, the artsbus is a travelling arts studio and theatre that doubles as a music room, built for kids who can’t easily get to arts programs because of cost or transport. It works like a library van and parks at one of its regular spots once a week for an afternoon of art and play.
