After much speculation and anticipation, Soundwave has revealed some more bands to join their festival of fun in 2015. You can now see Animals As Laders, The Devil Wears Prada, Dragonforce, Evergren Terrace, Fucked Up, He Is legend, Killer Be Killed, Le Butcherettes, Lower Than Atlantis, One Ok Rock, Sleepwave and Twin Atlantic when the festival comes to Melbourne on Saturday February 21 and Sunday February 22. Don’t forget headliners Slipknot, Slash, Marilyn Manson, Fall Out Boy, Judas Priest, Godsmack, Papa Roach and more have already been confirmed.
Brisbane prog band Caligula’s Horse have announced a national tour for this coming January. Catch them playing a steamy set at Melbourne’s Evelyn Hotel on Sunday January 25. You can get tickets at wildthingpresents.com.
Chaos continues to encircle legendary metal band Megadeth with half their band quitting late last week. Their drummer Shawn Drover and guitarist Chris Broderick both departed citing very civil musical differences as the reasons behind their departure.
Post-hardcore gurus From Autumn To Ashes will reform and perform again in 2015. After six long years the band have promptly been added to Canadian music festival Amnesia Rockfest. They’ve also said there will be some more shows to come.
Australia Day is always a bonza time to chuck a celebration and PLASTIC knows this, having dished out one hell of a lineup for their dual venue party on Sunday January 25. The talents Miss Erica Freas of RVIVR will return to Australia again next year with Hot Tears, the solo project from Molly Fischer (Songs for Moms, Fisting Crystals). Soak it up when they arrive in Melbourne for two shows. Dane Certificates Magic Shop on March 4 and The Reverence Hotel on Saturday March 7.
Oblivians will also take advantage of their jaunt across the pond this March. While in town for Golden Plains the band will headline at Barwon Club in Geelong on March 9 and play THREE (that’s right) gigs at The Tote on Wednesday March 11, Thursday 12 and Friday 13.
