Trainscendence has opened its doors in Collingwood, bringing a quirky vehicle-themed creative hub to Easey Street.
Since opening in September, Trainscendence has been operating as both a co-working space by day and events venue by night across its 10 floors in Easey Street, Collingwood.
This interactive imaginationland draws inspiration from transport themes, creating what might be Australia’s most unique creative workspace.
Two vintage train carriages crown the rooftop, transformed into intimate theatres hosting more than 25 performers during Melbourne Fringe.

Membership unlocks access to all 10 floors during business hours, plus workshops and events led by diverse facilitators. Members get opportunities to showcase work, test ideas and collaborate with other creatives, along with 20% discounts on space hire and local offers.
Each floor can be hired separately for rehearsals, workshops, presentations, meetings and celebrations. Staff work with hirers to configure spaces for specific events, whether that’s intimate gatherings in the train carriages or larger productions in ground-floor areas.
Born from a desire for creative community beyond traditional library spaces, Trainscendence positions itself as a place where like-minded souls naturally connect. This living, breathing hub welcomes artists, makers, dreamers and doers to explore new ideas, express their art and build their vision.
With Melbourne losing several creative spaces and festivals recently, Trainscendence aims to fill part of that cultural void. Its weird, wacky and wonderful approach feels distinctly Melbourne, offering something genuinely different in the local creative landscape.
