Festival programmers are currently searching far and wide for the best new films to present to Melbourne audiences. An Early Bird ticket sale will be available in May, with MIFF Members gaining access to the best prices on tickets and passes, as well as exclusive pre-sale opportunities and invitations to year-round preview screenings.

In addition to the film program, the festival is now accepting applications for its prestigious Critics Campus, Australia’s premier screen criticism incubator program. The initiative provides hands-on experience in a live festival context for emerging and early-career critics. Applications for Critics Campus close at 5pm on Monday 19 May.

The festival is also calling for Early Bird applications for the MIFF 37°South Market, which brings together local and international film financiers, buyers and screen producers from across Australia and New Zealand. The four-day industry event offers pitching opportunities, screenings, modules and panel discussions. Early Bird applications close on Monday 14 April.

The Melbourne International Film Festival has been a cornerstone of Melbourne’s cultural landscape since its inception, showcasing groundbreaking cinema from around the globe while supporting the development of Australia’s film industry. The festival typically features hundreds of films across multiple venues throughout the city.

As part of the festival’s industry components, the MIFF 37°South Market has established itself as a significant networking opportunity for film industry professionals, fostering connections between Australian and international filmmakers, producers and distributors.

The Critics Campus continues to nurture new voices in film criticism, providing mentorship and practical experience during the festival period, helping to develop Australia’s next generation of film critics and analysts.
