What’s your name then?

Chasing Ghosts.

And the name of your event?

Just promoting my soon to be released album Confessions From A Phone Booth in store September 2. So playing around the nation currently, just returned from Brisbane and now playing a few shows across Melbourne this week.

And what do you do?

I’m a singer/songwriter playing folk-punk .

Why did you start doing that?

After years of playing in the hardcore scene I was keen to try something different. It was really challenging and scary but exciting at the same time. I still love hardcore, metal and punk etc, just getting a buzz out of connecting with a crowd a different way at the moment.

Do you think you’re good at doing that?

Well I’m still enjoying it so yeah I guess.

If you weren’t doing that, what would you be doing?

Probably back playing in hardcore bands or working back in the music industry.

What makes you happiest about what you’re doing?

Other than playing music, getting to meet lots of new people is great and travelling round Australia and New Zealand to places I may not have ever visited if not for music has also been epic.

And what makes you unhappiest about what you’re doing?

Well when you’re one guy paying the bills, such as such as recording, music can be very expensive sometimes. You can’t split the expenses with others which kind of sucks.

What’s you proudest moment of doing what you do?

Writing and finishing a whole album all by myself was something I had never done before and very different to working with other members of a band so ultimately the responsibility is all yours and scary. And I am proud of overcoming that challenge.

When are you doing your thing next?

Wednesday August 10 at The Builders Arms, Thursday August 11 at NEXT, and Sunday August 14 at The Brunswick Hotel.
