The Famous Spiegel Garden will be the hottest place to be this summer
The Famous Spiegel Garden will be the hottest place to be this summer. The precinct outside the Arts Centre will be transformed into a lush, tropical ex-pats club.
“Working loosely with the era of the 1930s, the Garden will personify the glamour, mystique and decadence of Old Hollywood meets the Colonial Tropics meets Raffles Hotel,” explained Judith Isherwood, Chief Executive, the Arts Centre. Separate yet connected zones will link the site to The Famous Spiegeltent, to create a sense of play. These zones include The Trophy Room, The Banana Lounge, The Reading Room and The Games Lawn. The Spiegeltent returns to the Arts Centre Forecourt from February 12 to April 24 2011 with an exciting program of events. The program includes Smoke & Mirrors; the hit show of the Brisbane Festival, Cantina; New York’s infamous The Wau Wau Sisters’ Last Supper and Paul Capsis – Make Me A King.
The Famous Spiegel Garden is free and open from 4pm weekdays and from 11am weekends. Shows in The Famous Spiegeltent start from 6.30pm Tuesday to Friday and from 2pm on weekends. For more information visit theartscentre.com.au/spiegeltent or phone 1300 182 183. The Famous Spiegeltent is presented by the Arts Centre in association with David Bates and Spiegeltent International.
