Think ol’ mate Tyson covered this while I was AWOL a few weeks back, but as they say: if it’s nice, review it twice! And this is really nice. Plus there’s an extended mix out in the world so that’s as good a reason as any to take another look. The first single from Caribou’s upcoming Our Love is deceptively simple in its deft construction: the titular, yearning vocal sample is transcendent as it builds from a pitched-down groove to falsetto croon, navigating the glorious synth swells bubbling from underneath. It’s cosmic. It’s perfection. If this dropped in the late ‘90s with a slick film clip it would’ve topped the charts.
