Canadian rapper Jon James McMurray, better known as Jon James, has died after filming a video clip involving a stunt involving walking on the wing of a small plane mid-flight while rapping.
Despite training for the stunt for months in preparation, the 34-year-old sent the plane into a downward spiral after walking too far out onto the wing. According to a statement from the rapper’s media team, “Jon held onto the wing until it was too late, and by the time he let go, he didn’t have time to pull his chute. He impacted and died instantly.”
Known for incorporating stunts into his music, walking on a plane wing was somewhat commonplace for the former professional skier.
