Fresh off signing to King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard’s newly minted label, the band is showing no signs of slowing down, scheduling 12 dates across the country. The run includes a string of festival appearances, with slots locked in at Thredbo Bike Cannonball After Party and Wollongong’s Yours And Owls Festival.

The tour will see the group bring their sun-soaked psychedelia to intimate venues like Canberra’s Polish White Eagle Club and Adelaide’s Crown & Anchor, alongside larger rooms such as Melbourne’s Howler and Newcastle’s King St Bandroom.

The band will wrap up their Australian dates with a trio of shows in their home state of Queensland, hitting Brunswick Heads’ Hotel Brunswick, Eumundi’s Imperial Hotel, and Brisbane’s Lefty’s Music Hall.

The announcement arrives alongside news of the band’s latest single Like Cleopatra, a track that showcases their evolution into 80s funk-inspired territory while maintaining their signature kaleidoscopic sound. The song’s inspiration came from an unexpectedly pastoral source – their neighbour’s cow Mary and her calf, combined with purchases of “Cleopatra’s Bath Milk.”

Recorded in a converted banana farm warehouse, Slipper imp and shakaerator promises to be their most homegrown effort to date. The album sees the band collaborating with producer Timon Martin and features guest vocals from Camille Jansen, who the band credits with bringing “ancient Egyptian aristocratic air to her coolness.”

Following their Australian run, the band will hop across the Tasman for four New Zealand shows, beginning April 10th at Wellington’s Meow and concluding at Auckland’s Double Whammy on April 13.
