Grammy-winning blues and soul powerhouse Ruthie Foster is bringing her full band to Brunswick Ballroom this May.

Ruthie Foster has long been one of America’s most treasured voices, and her 2026 return to Australia is a genuine event. Born into a gospel-rich family in Gause, Texas, Foster draws from a deep well of American musical traditions — blues, gospel, folk, jazz and soul — weaving them together with a storytelling instinct that is completely her own.
Her guitar playing is every bit as celebrated as her voice, and live, the combination is something else entirely.

Foster’s most recent album, Mileage, released on Sun Records, earned her a Grammy Award in 2024, her first win after multiple nominations and a long-overdue acknowledgement of a career built on authenticity and resilience.
She’s also a multiple Blues Music Award winner, and her name gets dropped alongside Aretha Franklin and Bonnie Raitt for good reason. This isn’t hype; it’s a track record.
What makes this show particularly special is that Brunswick Ballroom is one of a select few venues on this tour where Foster will be performing with her full band. That’s not a small thing.
