Grand Pine, Karl S. Williams, Mosë, Squid Nebula, Queenie and so, so much more - the Brunswick Ballroom are putting on some great gigs this September.
Known for blending neo-soul with a jazz-fusion, gospel sound, Mosë is playing a free show with Joshua Moriarty on September 31. June Jones, Grand Pine, Lion and Saint Ergo are joining a killer lineup for Get Ready For Big Sound, a free gig that takes place on September 1. Riot Baby and Squid Nebula are performing at the first of Brunswick Ballroom’s Family Jams, a series for kids ages 0-10, on September 11. A poignant voice of Australian independent music, Karl S. Williams takes to the stage on September 14 and Queenie is bringing her fiery charisma and freewheeling stagecraft to Brunswick Ballroom on September 28. Most of the shows are free, with Family Jams costing less than $8 – which is a killer deal for such good music.

Raw and emotional, yet unstoppable – Mosë is bringing her neo-soul sound to the Brunswick Ballroom with a full live band behind her. Making her mark on Victoria’s contemporary music scene, her sound is constantly evolving. Following her set, Joshua Moriarty will be treating the crowd to his Supper Club show performing on the Ballroom’s grand piano. Get Ready For Big Sound showcases the best in Melbourne’s music scene. On the line-up is indie-folk band Grand Pine, Naarm-based alt pop singer, songwriter, producer, and shapeshifter June Jones, queer, black electropop/alt artist, singer, songwriter, producer and dancer Lion and Saint Ergo, a songwriter whose soaring voice bridges the masculine and the feminine with unique, sophistically songwriting that spans many genres of music. Get Ready for Sound goes down on September 1, it’s a free gig.
The First Family Jams has kids punk band Riot Baby and soulful disco-jazz band Squid Nebula on the lineup, bringing the best of Melbourne’s diverse, original live music scene to kids amd their elders on Saturday September 11. Tickets are all less than $8.

All of these gigs are presented thanks to the Resonate initiative. Resonate is a partnership between the Moreland City Council and the Victorian government’s On The Road Again initiative, which will deliver some fantastic live gigs to venues in Brunswick, Coburg, Glenroy and beyond.
