After nine years of silence following 2011’s The People’s Key, emo rockers Bright Eyes are back with a new single and an album on the way.
Led by Conor Oberst, the Omaha-bred, Nebraska-based trio first gained attention with Fevers and Mirrors in 2000. In the years since, the band have gained a dedicated fan base and huge critical acclaim for releases including Digital Ash in a Digital Urn and I’m Wide Awake It’s Morning.
Today, the indie band return with a new single ‘Persona Non Grata’ and confirmation of a forthcoming album set for release this year.
The band also issued an open letter to their fans.
“Strange days indeed. Just wanted to send our love and solidarity to everyone out there feeling alone, frightened and isolated. You are not alone. We are all in this together,” the letter reads.
“We, like so many others, had many plans for 2020. We will be releasing a new album this year no matter what. We also have lots of touring plans which we are now reassessing. We will keep you informed as things progress,” it continues.
