The acoustic single is a huge change of pace for Boo Seeka and sees him wearing his heart on his sleeve as he mourns the loss of normalcy we’re all experiencing amidst the pandemic.

“Writing on an acoustic guitar has always been a part of my process and usually, it would just be used to figure out the chords and structure of the song, and then it would be built into an electronic track,” he explains.

“With ‘Tripwire’, we used the same template, but nothing we built sonically got close to the emotion, and the rawness of the acoustic version.”

Boo Seeka says the single is indicative of the sonic diversity displayed across his forthcoming album, though he’s otherwise remaining tight-lipped about his next record.

To celebrate the release, he’ll head on a national tour next month, stopping in at Richmond’s Corner Hotel on September 30 and October 1 (sold out), as well as playing shows in Byron Bay, Brisbane, Sydney, Hobart, Launceston, Adelaide and Perth.
