If your Powderfinger reunion plan was to grab tickets later, bad news: all 26 shows sold out in six days.
The last tickets went in the 19 October general public onsale, which pushed Powderfinger past 300,000 sales and ahead of the onsale for the band’s 2010 Sunsets Farewell Tour. Melbourne has the biggest slice of the run, with seven nights at Melbourne Park Oval between 22 October and 1 November. Brisbane and Sydney got six shows each. Perth has three, while Cairns and Adelaide got two apiece.
A final encore run is being pieced together to wrap up the tour, though nobody has confirmed cities or dates yet.
The plan is a string of extra shows in select spots, set up to get tickets into as many hands as possible. Until then, the band has asked fans to be patient.

“We are still gobsmacked by the response to this tour” said Bernard Fanning. “A few weeks ago I was in the ballot for Radiohead tickets. It was BLOODY STRESSFUL and I was eventually lucky enough to be able to buy some. So I understand what a difficult process it can be when you’re trying to juggle work, kids and life in general.
“So, we are going to put together another string of shows in select destinations that allows as many people as possible to get their hands on tickets. Please keep the faith and be patient. We are just as excited to see YOU as you are to see us.”
Powderfinger are partnering with Mission Australia across the tour, raising money and awareness for the organisation’s work with people who are homeless or at risk of it. The band points to family violence, mental health and financial hardship as common drivers of homelessness, and says the cause sits close to its members’ hearts. Details on how fans can chip in will be released later.
This is the Brisbane band’s first national run since the Sunsets Farewell Tour wrapped in 2010. Things kick off at Brisbane Showgrounds on 3 September 2027, with six hometown shows crammed into nine days, and Melbourne is the last city on the schedule as it stands. Dew Process Artist Management and Cornershop Agency are presenting the tour in association with Live Nation.
Anyone who missed out should keep an eye on the band’s website and socials, as encore details will drop once they’re locked in.
