BIGSOUND 2026 is on the hunt for artists ready to take the stage at Australia's biggest music industry event.
Marking its 25th year, BIGSOUND is a four-day, three-night music industry conference and showcase descending on Brisbane in the first week of September.
As the southern hemisphere’s largest music industry gathering and the biggest A&R event in Australian music, it’s the kind of week that can genuinely change the trajectory of a career. Past showcase acts include Flume, Rufus Du Sol, Gang of Youths, The Temper Trap, G Flip, Lime Cordiale, Tash Sultana, DMA’s, Courtney Barnett and plenty more, artists who went on to become some of the biggest names in the game.
BIGSOUND 2026 is looking for artists at all stages, unsigned, breaking, or already making moves, who are ready to perform in front of a curated room of international and local industry heavyweights.

Whether it’s labels, agents, festival bookers, promoters or media, the people in the room at BIGSOUND are the ones who can open doors. Artists selected for the lineup will also score a delegate pass, giving access to conferences, workshops, one-on-one meetings and special events across the full four days.
Applying gives artists the chance to:
- Perform to a curated audience of international and Australian industry guests across media, labels, A&R, production, management, promotions, distribution and more
- Connect with industry through the delegate portal and live events to develop networks and access career-defining opportunities
- Build a community of artists to cultivate future collabs, elevate your sound and meet your favourite local acts
- Grow export opportunities by networking and performing for labels and lead bookers from international events like The Great Escape and Reeperbahn Festival
- Access all official events with a delegate pass, including conferences, special events, one-on-one meetings, artist-facing workshops and more
When it comes to what BIGSOUND is looking for, there’s no single magic formula, but a few things always matter. Putting your best foot forward is key: submit your most recent work, up-to-date artist headshots and a solid bio, since these are the first things used across the BIGSOUND website and promotional materials if you land a spot on the lineup.
Beyond the polish, BIGSOUND is after artists who feel export ready and are coming in with a clear sense of where they want to go. It’s not just about the performance. It’s about being ready to make connections, build networks and meet the people who could become part of your team. Past alumni have gone on to open for major international acts and perform across every major Australian festival, so the opportunities that flow from a BIGSOUND appearance are real and long-lasting.
Applications close Wednesday, 1 April 2026 at 11.59pm. There are no extensions this year, so don’t sleep on it.
