A new series of intimate shows that will see both fans and artists on stage together has been announced.

Melbourne’s iconic Palais Theatre are putting on a couple of super unique gigs in January next year, which will see fans and artist sharing the stage amongst the backdrop of the iconic art deco auditorium. Featuring performances from The Living End’s Chris Cheney, sisters and trailblazers The Merindas, beloved Naarm/Melbourne duo Big Scary and dream-pop icon Hatchie, and a bunch more soon to be announced, it’s set to be a fantastic start to live music in 2023.

“The Palais Theatre is Melbourne’s home of Live Music and we were thrilled to be successful in our grant application as it supports the use of our venue in a unique way,” says Lloyd Jones, the Venue Manager of the Palais Theatre.

“[It] provides new exposure to talented artists being able to perform in this iconic space and also further the careers of crew and students in the industry and we continue to focus on rebuilding and resourcing a sector that is the lifeblood of Melbourne ”.

The stage at The Palais will be made accessible via a ramp that will be built from the auditorium onto the stage. The program is supported by RISE, an Australian Government initiative that provides funding to various arts and entertainment sector organisations to assist in the presentation of cultural and creative projects.
