Beat’s Burgers of Melbourne: Tramway Hotel

Tell us about Tramway Hotel. Tramway Hotel dates back to the 1870s when horses used to camp overnight in the stablesout the back. Nowadays, it’s all about burgers, poutine, beers and lots of live music. With a clear focus on perfecting the burger, and not just compiling junk on top of it or jamming it into a milkshake, the Tramway kitchen can always be trusted to deliver a consistently great burger every day of the week.

What do you love about the Melbourne burger scene? Not so much the burger scene, but the music scene. That’s why we have Melbourne Bands Who Rule burgers where we make a burger inconsultation with, and dedicated to, Melbourne bands who totally rule. We’ve had bandssuch as UV Race, Whipper, Miss Destiny and Batpiss to name a few.

What is the most ordered burger? For carnivores, it’s the Bacon Cheeseburger. For vegans and vegetarians, it’s our Fried ‘Chicken’ TofuBurger.

Share with us some exciting Tramway news. Our entire menu can now be vegan, meaning all of our burgers, poutine and mac ’n’ cheesecan be either meat, vegetarian or vegan depending on what you require. This changes everything for non-meat eaters, and rightly so. For too long the food choices at pubshave been limited across the board and we intend to help facilitate change in this area. Thedays of a vego lasagne being the only dish without meat are long gone.
