Beat Eats

Forking off the oldest Chinese streetscape in the western world (Little Bourke Street AKA Chinatown) lives Junk, a quaint restaurant with a lively feel, bringing together a mix of Thai, Japanese, Cantonese, Korean and Australian flavours. A perfect creation for a long lazy lunch in the city, a quick cheap bite on your lunch break or simply a fun place to dine in the CBD. The restaurant’s hometown originates in the Sunshine Coast as a small eatery with big flavours, now their taste is so popular they’ve spread from Toowamba, Brisbane to our lovely Melbourne. I am fond of their papaya salad which is fresh and crunchy and their chicken satay bowl. They also offer ‘bubble tea’ with a choice of gin or vodka, which is always fun.

Smudge Eats, the online hub and publisher of premium coffee table books on all things Melbourne deliciousness, is doing something particularly fun this Good Beer Week – partnering with leading restaurants for a special menu offer. For just $40, guests receive a two course set lunch, plus a cooling Mountain Goat Beer. The Mill House, San Telmo, Patuso and Rice Paper Scissors are just few names who will be cooking for this one-time-only menu celebration. Head to goodbeerweek.com.au to explore the Good Beer Week dishes of the week.

Goody’s is a contemporary, fast yet casual choice, offering a variety of signature burgers and dishes with the utmost credible service. It holds first place in the quick service restaurant market in South Eastern Europe, and is number one in brand recognition in the food service category. Impressively, Goody’s has launched its dynamic growth across Europe, spanning to a huge 150 restaurants in Greece, Cyprus, Albania, Skopke, Indian Ocean (Mayotte), Kosovo and Malta and Saudi Arabia set to follow. And here’s a secret, Goody’s has plans to open at least ten more restaurants across major urban cities in Australia. For now you can find them at the Greek Centre’s ground floor, at the corner of Lonsdale and Russell Streets.
