He only announced his debut headline tour last week, and yet already Baker Boy is looking at two sold-out shows with two additional shows just announced in Melbourne and Brisbane.

Danzal Baker, AKA Baker Boy, is the next big thing is Aussie hip hop, having been propelled along by support from Triple J, and a growing following for his powerful music and electric live performances.

His verses switch between English and Yolngu Matha: “step back and feeling the power of my blackness.”

Baker Boy also has a background performing in an Indigenous dance troupe, which becomes pretty evident when you see him play live. YouTube his Triple J Unearthed Live At The Steps performance and you’ll get to witness some pretty sweet synchronised dance moves.

Danzal has swagger, talent and ambition: he is the first popular mainstream artist to rap in Yolngu. His first two singles – Cloud 9 and Marryuna – both made it into the Triple J Hottest 100 this year, and he also recently supported 50 Cent during his Sydney and Melbourne shows.

This boy is sharpening his chops and getting ready for inevitable international success, so make sure you’re a part of his first ever headline tour, here in Australia.
