The biggest gaming festival in the country, PAX, is set to hit Melbourne this month – enveloping a walloping 30, 000 square metres in everything gaming related. Taking over the entire Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre for three days, PAX will see tens of thousands of gamers flocking to test the hottest new games, compete with fellow players and hear from the minds behind some of the world’s biggest games.

Along with a chance to check out what’s on the horizon game-wise, PAX offers a smorgasbord of activities including panels with local and international gaming personalities, game previews and demos, tournament sessions and virtual reality gaming. With the activities on offer ranging from FORTNITE to Pinball machines to Dungeon and Dragons, you can guarantee there will be something right up your alley.

Across the three days, you can expect to catch a keynote with Rhianna Pratchett, award-winning writer who has worked on Tomb RaiderHeavenly Sword and Mirror’s Edge; Omegathon, a battle of the games from across history in which 20 randomly selected ‘Omeganauts’ fight it out until there’s one man or woman left standing; live performances from geek-rock bands such as Nerf Herder and 7Bit Hero; freeplay areas, housing hundreds of PC and consoles games, VR set-ups, classic arcade machines and the likes; plus much, much more.

If gaming is your scene, you won’t want to miss PAX.
