Arlo Parks releases signature tea flavour with Australian brand T Totaler

Arlo Parks tea

The signature blend is an accompaniment to the artist's forthcoming album My Soft Machine.

The English musician and the Sydney-based tea company have joined forces to create an exclusive, Australian-only tea blend in celebration of the upcoming album.

The tea has been named Purple Phase after a song on the tracklist of the new release, set to come out on May 26.

Made from a unique blend of organic chamomile flower, native lemon myrtle and blue pea flower, the tea was designed to be a peaceful and calming respite. When brewed, it turns a rich royal blue, which transforms to a vibrant purple when lemon juice or other citrus is added.

It is said to help with sleep and be high in vitamin C and antioxidants.

“When I was making this record, I was very much out in the world,” says Parks. “It felt most natural to sit down and go inwards and be by myself, with a cup of tea, and really figure this all out.”

Amber and Paul Sutherland, the founders of T Totaler, say they were “beyond excited” to create a tea for the Grammy-nominated artist.

“We wanted to create something that complimented My Soft Machine, that takes you on a journey in the way Arlo Parks does.”

“It’s caffeine free and can be served either hot or cold, so anyone, anywhere can drink this tea.”

The artist has just announced a run of Australian shows in support of the new album, including an appearance at Splendour in the Grass. She’ll be playing at Melbourne’s Forum on July 17.
