He’ll say farewell with a huge five-month run of shows.

Legendary singer-songwriter and voice of the Stolen Generations, Archie Roach, has announced his final run of Australian shows.

He’ll make his way around the country for the last time across May and through until September, bringing his acclaimed Tell Me Why show to stages in capital cities.

Blending tales from his recently released memoir Tell Me Why and the accompanying album of the same name, as well as favourites from his extensive catalogue, the string of shows will be an intimate send-off for the beloved storyteller.

Roach will be joined by a five-piece band for the tour, including Paul Grabowsky and Emma Donovan. Together, they’ll make their way to some of Australia’s most prestigious live music venues, including Melbourne’s Hamer Hall, Sydney’s State Theatre and Hobart’s Theatre Royal.

“Releasing my debut album, Charcoal Lane back in 1990, was the most amazing experience in my life,” says Roach. “I never imagined that I would be here three decades later still recording and singing on stages in Australia and the world.

“Music has kept me going, kept me alive. It’s something that I have come to love, especially the relationship I have with those who come to my shows. I am also most grateful to all the people that I have worked with through the years.”

Seven dates have been locked in so far, with more yet to be announced.
