Rebel Wilson cancels Australian stage tour promoting Rebel Rising

WORDS BY STAFF WRITER

Rebel Wilson's unfiltered evening is a must-see event.

From her humble beginnings in Sydney to becoming a household name in Hollywood, Rebel Wilson’s upcoming stage tour, An Evening with Rebel Wilson, was supposed to explore her journey from the humble likes of Thank God You’re Here to Hollywood stardom.

Now, the Sydney Morning Herald are reporting the speaking tour dates have been cancelled. The cancellations come in the wake of allegations Wilson made against an unnamed Hollywood star in her upcoming memoir Rebel Rising, which she later revealed to be Sascha Baron Cohen during the filming of Grimsby. The book’s release has since been delayed with Cohen taking legal action.

Wilson first gained widespread recognition for her breakout role as Brynn in the hit comedy “Bridesmaids” (2011), where her scene-stealing performance showcased her comedic chops. She further solidified her place in Hollywood with her portrayal of Fat Amy in the “Pitch Perfect” film series, winning audiences over with her larger-than-life personality and comedic timing.
