American melodic hard rock veterans Tyketto have announced their first Australian headline tour, following their successful appearance at GlamFest earlier this year.

The band, fronted by vocalist Danny Vaughn, will return to play three shows across the east coast of Australia in February 2025, marking a significant milestone in their 34-year career. The announcement comes after overwhelming demand from fans who witnessed their performances at GlamFest 2024.

Tyketto emerged in 1991 with their debut album Don’t Come Easy, which was released during a pivotal shift in the music landscape as grunge began to overshadow melodic rock. The album, which showcased a sound bridging the gap between Bon Jovi and Whitesnake, produced enduring tracks Forever Young and Seasons, establishing itself as an underground classic within the genre.

Tour dates:

  • Wednesday 12 February – Crowbar, Brisbane
  • Thursday 13 February – Prince Bandroom, Melbourne
  • Friday 14 February – Metro Social, Sydney

The band’s discography expanded with subsequent releases including Strength In Numbers (1994), Shine (1995), Dig Deep (2012), and Reach (2016). However, it’s their live performances that have cemented their reputation, with Rock Flesh noting that “Danny is a powerhouse vocalist who can turn from gentle AOR balladeer to screaming, spitting rocker in an instant.”

The current lineup features Vaughn alongside drummer Johnny Dee, known for his work with Britney Fox and currently part of Doro’s band. The roster is completed by bassist Chris Childs, keyboardist Ged Rylands, and guitarist Harry Scott Elliot.

Silverback Touring, the promoter behind the upcoming shows, highlighted the impact of their recent Australian debut. “Fans got a taste of what the Tyketto live experience was like earlier this year and they were the talk of Glamfest. After 30 years they finally made it to Australia but now they are back to knock it out the park with their first ever headline shows which are not to be missed.”

The tour promises to showcase the band’s signature mix of powerful ballads and high-energy rock anthems, with The Rockpit praising Vaughn’s “flawless vocals” during their recent Australian performances.
