16 bands and as many DJs were meant to play the three-day festival in late June, until the floodwaters in Bendigo hit an all-time high. The event was meant to bring acts such as Greatest Hits, Black Club, and Kardajala Kirridarra, but hasn’t decided on a new date yet.

“Unfortunately, due to flooding, we have regrettably had to cancel the Almost Summer music festival,” event producer Jesse Lubitz said. “This is an event that was born out of passion and love for the live music scene with our wonderful partners ALWAYS LIVE and City of Greater Bendigo.”

Not only has Almost Summer been cancelled, but this year’s Bendigo Agricultural show has been cancelled as well, the site now used as an emergency relief centre. With more rain forecast for Victoria, things are expected to get worse before they get better.

Bendigo Vinyl were meant to have a pop-up stall at the festival, as a way to support artists by selling tangible copies of their music. If you were still interested in purchasing some vinyl and supporting the artists amid this cancellation, you can find their website here.
