It’s a long weekend this week which means you’ve got one extra day to go out and do some good things. On Good Friday, Off The Curb in Collingwood are opening a new dewy exhibit, Youth. Celebrating turning the big 1-0, the exhibition is a huge group show all about the formative and fun years before daunting adulthood, with a hamper of artists that explore the theme though all kinds of mediums. The fun opening night is going down from 6pm and guests not only get to check out the exhibition first-in and best-dressed, but can also meet some of the artists. Joining the exhibition crew is ex-graffiti artist turned prominent portrayer; Matt Adnate and spiritual line-work virtuoso Robby Wirramanda. Off The Curb is also donating the whole gallery commission to Red Dust who are all about providing healthcare and support to indigenous communities.
Also Good Friday at Hamer Hall in the heart of the big smoke is a live version of RocKwiz. As seen on TV, the cult classic music quiz will be bringing regular hosts Julia Zemiro, Dugald McAndrew and Brian Nankervis as well as a bunch of new guests. Also flying in are musicians Kate Ceberano, Billy Bragg, Mike Thomas, Kylie Auldist and Hailey Cramer and comedians David O’Doherty and Anne Edmond as well as the ol’ RocKwiz Orkestra.
All April, Triple R is running a big subscription drive called April Amnesty. Being a not-for-profit cool community radio station, Triple R subscriber support is what keeps all the cogs and gears turning and broadcasting.
