Melbourne’s own singer-songwriter and guitarist Alison Ferrier will be appearing with her band the Upshots at Soundworks. Her music has been described as “Alt-countrified gorgeousness” which “affects them deeply and with a quiet constant energy.” You can catch her with her mighty band: Dave Folley on drums, Alics Gate-Eastley holding down the low end and Jeff Lang on electric guitar. You can expect to hear sublime three-part harmonies and influences of folk, blues and country, but Ferrier produces a sound that is entirely her own.
