Belgian Vampire mokumentary is set to have its Australian premiere at The Australian Centre for the Moving Image this April.
The Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI) has joined the vampire craze with their presentation of Belgian comedy-horror Vampires.
Written and directed by Vincent Lannoo, Vampires is a 2009 mokumentary that parodies vampire fiction while satirising modern family life.
The film centres around a film crew sent to record the dysfunctional life of a family of French-speaking Belgian vampires, complete with an immortal daughter who keeps committing suicide in an attempt to become human and a narcissistic son who is exiled to Canada after sleeping with the Grand Leader’s wife.
Labelled as "Spinal Tap meets the Munsters" at last year’s Sci-Fi London Film Festival, Vampires is set to be a cult comedy hit to counteract the current hormonal-teen craze. Don’t worry, with an 18+ rating and a lot of expected gore, this is no Twilight.
Vampires will have its Australian premiere as part of Freaky Fridays at ACMI on April 1.
