Brought to you by Melbourne booking, artist management and events company Moor Music.
Across nine non-stop hours of live music, showcasing Melbourne’s brightest nu-jazz, neo-soul and experimental music talents and DJs, Rinse Aid 2 will see the likes of Horatio Luna, Izy, I Hold the Lion’s Paw and Malla perform for the event.
Keep up to date with all the latest music interviews, news and reviews here.
Off the top, Horatio Luna has not only forged a reputation as one of the founding members of 30/70 but has also put out a bunch of stellar solo records, including 2020’s stellar house music escapade, Yes Doctor. He’s a composer, bassist, producer, improviser and so much more.
Izy is a band to watch – a neo-soul outfit from the far north stretches of Queensland who fuse smooth beats and vocals with profound lyrics. I Hold the Lion’s Paw is a local eight-piece psych-jazz outfit led by Reuben Lewis, an established trumpeter, composer and improviser himself, while Malla fuse boom-bap beats, jazz harmony and chaotic soundscapes together to create music that’s futuristic and transcendent.
There will also be DJs appearing at the event, headed up by none other DJ JNETT – the undisputed don of house music in Australia who needs no introduction, as well as MARSH LONG, MOL K and Mason Jordy.
Rinse Aid 2 will embody two stages, with the main stage featuring the live bands and another hosting the DJs, who will perform on a purpose-built in-crowd platform. As punters dance the night away they’ll encircle the DJ, creating an immersive 360-degree Boiler Room-like experience.
There will also be audiovisual installations and live art performances on the night, adding another mystical element to Rinse Aid 2.
