A new socially distant drive-in cinema is hitting Melbourne

At a yet-to-be-announced location.

There’s a new socially distanced drive-in cinema hitting town in July. While regular cinemas remain closed due to the current crisis, the guys behind Hot Tub Cinema will launch their very own iteration that will bring the movies Anchorman, Mean Girls, Dirty Dancing and Back to the Future to the safety of your own car.

Get set for an “immersive, cinematic experience” from the Drive-In Movie Club where you won’t even have to leave your car to grab your goodies – snacks and food will be delivered straight to you.

With tickets priced at $35 per car, up to five people will be able to come along – you can then grab one popcorn, one candy and one drink for $20. The location of the cinema has yet-to-be-announced but further details will be revealed in the coming weeks.

Screening dates are as follows:

Thursday July 23 – Anchorman

Friday July 24 – Mean Girls

Saturday July 25 – Dirty Dancing

Sunday July 26 – Back to the Future

The screenings kick off from 8pm each session. Grab your tickets here.
