A new nightclub has opened in Melbourne with a large courtyard and Funktion-One sound system

Gravity Club
Words by Staff Writer

Gravity Club is Melbourne's new tech-house focused nightclub on Little Collins Street, from the legends behind Sub Club.

The name Gravity is a little futuristic and so is the decor, with sleek purple and blue lines featured throughout the interior and on an astronaut mural in the venue’s large, 350-capacity courtyard that features a retractable roof.

The veterans behind Sub Club have secured the new venue for specific events with an equally impressive 400-capacity indoor dance floor and haven’t spared any expenses with a Funktion-One sound system.

Over the next few weeks, they’ll be hosting a free open-air two-year anniversary party from local organisers Waves, with Velvet Velour, Bex, Hannah D, Toni Yotzi, Bonus Dub, Jinx, Eddie Guy, Binofski and more. It’ll go for 14 hours across two rooms from 3pm to 5am on May 4.

They’ll also feature Cara Murphy at This Side Of Paradise on May 10, with Eric Stark, Karl Pilbrow, Dean Tross and RoJa taking to the decks for a melodic techno, prog house and nu disco event from 10pm to 5am.

“Step into the gravitational pull of Melbourne’s newest music destination Gravity Club,” the club’s organisers stated.

“Blurring the lines between music, art and subculture, Gravity boasts a Funktion-One sound system, providing an elevated experience as we defy norms and celebrate immersive musical experiences. Our pulsating soundwaves can be felt across both our indoor and outdoor space, allowing for an all-encompassing club experience. Get ready to fall into the rhythm at Gravity Club.”
