Good news for Daria fans: MTV is rebooting the series for a new generation. The revival is called Daria & Jodie, and is written by Grace Edwards — who has worked on Inside Amy Schumer, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and Broad City.
The new Daria series follows in the same footsteps of the original, albeit with a contemporary slant. The show will be reinvented through the eyes of Daria and her best friend Jodie Landon as the pair make their way through life, deconstructing pop culture, social classes, gender and race along the way through their sardonic wit.
It’s been a whirlwind of quality TV announcements of late, with Matt Groening of The Simpsons and Futurama also announcing a new series with Broad City star Abbi Jacobson.
