A huge comedy festival is coming to a private island in Victoria

Words by Staff Writer

One of the largest comedy lineups to ever hit regional Australia is coming to an expansive private island in the Goulburn Wier.

Comedy in the Vines is a new all-star comedy festival happening at the Hide & Seek Winery in the Nagambie Lakes Wine Region this November and the lineup is massive.

UK comedy star Leigh Francis (of Keith Lemon / Celebrity Juice / Bo Selecta fame), Russell Kane, Celia Paquola, Rhys Nicholson, Dave Hughes, Tommy Little, Nat’s What I Reckon, Anne Edmonds, Geraldine Hickey and many, many more pack two days of non-stop laughter.

The event is part of Nagambie’s flood recovery drive for tourism and events, and the location could hardly be more spectacular. Lilypads surround the island – which has a microclimate perfect for outdoor festivals – and provides a beautiful backdrop for the stages and the perfect setting for the relaxation and rosé station.

Meanwhile, event hosts Hide & Seek Winery run a beautiful waterfront retreat and winery with luxury accommodation so there is plenty on offer, all just 90 minutes from Melbourne.

There’ll be two stages running a range of comedy and live podcasts, a Big Wine Tent featuring a range of industry heavyweights, a salon offering nail artists and massages, roving entertainment from the UK’s Cololoco, plus some incredible food offerings from co-founder of the Australasian Barbecue Alliance Adam Roberts and restaurant pop-ups and food trucks.
