A free Nepalese dumpling and Holi festival is coming to Melbourne

Prepare your senses for over a dozen dumpling marquees, boasting different Momo styles, folding techniques, recipes and flavours. On top of that, there’ll be a whirlwind of bands, DJs, Nepalese and eastern stage performances, market stalls, food trucks and amusement rides.

You’ll get joyously messy amongst the throwing of coloured powder and be enthralled by a wave of roving dancers from all over the world, including the styles of Nepalese Cultural & Lakhey dances, Chinese Lion performers, Indigenous dance, breakdancing, Bhangra Performances and Brazilian dance.

The main stage will feature the likes of acclaimed Nepalese groups Kutumba and Mystic Melbourne’s own Jakübi, Big Words and Eastern Seaboard Electric Soul Ensemble. DJs will include the likes of Edd Fisher, Manchild, Tokalata, Mike Gurrieri, The Knave, Hudson James Jr. and Chris Gill, with more to be announced.

The best part is that it’s all for an incredible cause – the only entry cost involved is a gold coin donation for Non Resident Nepali Association’s “Earthquake Reconstruction Project”, that aims to build 1000 homes for victims of the 2015 Nepal Earthquake.
