Erik Thomson is known for his wide range of performances, from the internationally renowned TV series Aftertaste to feature films like Kangaroo Island, which will premiere at the 2024 Adelaide Film Festival. His versatility has earned him recognition across genres, with recent roles in Blueback, Critical Incident, CAUGHT, and How To Please A Woman.

Thomson is no stranger to theatre, having performed in a sold-out season of The Speechmaker for Melbourne Theatre Company, as well as in classics such as Julius Caesar and Twelve Angry Men for Auckland Theatre Company. His most recent role in The Puzzle for State Theatre Company South Australia further cements his theatrical prowess.

“I am excited and truly honoured to be joining this beloved and internationally renowned production of The Old Vic’s A Christmas Carol. Charles Dickens’ masterful take on the essence of Christmas and its celebration of joy and connection, told through the redemption of the infamous tight-fisted debt collector Ebenezer Scrooge, is still as pertinent today as it was in the 19th century,” said Thomson.

The production, conceived and directed by Matthew Warchus and adapted for the stage by Jack Thorne, promises to bring an immersive, music-filled experience to Melbourne this holiday season.

A Christmas Carol will play for a strictly limited festive season at the Comedy Theatre from 22 November 2024, with tickets now on sale atchristmascarolaustralia.com.au.
