A new $100,000 initiative will see Collingwood public housing turned into Australia’s largest mural, depicting three of the residents that call it home.
The 50-metre mural which will encompass the entire side of the 20-storey tower celebrates how public housing has aided vulnerable citizens.
‘‘I’m not aware of a mural of the size and scale of this anywhere in Australia,” said Planning Minister Richard Wynne.
In conjunction with the mural, a $50,000 project has been given the green light to create a book and documentary about the residents and their life stories.
