According to The Herald Sun, The Beatles and Wings icon is currently close to locking in a summer Australian tour with revered promoter Michael Gudinski.
Gudinski, Frontier Touring and Mushroom Music Group recently brought American music icon Bruce Springsteen to AAMI Park – the same venue McCartney is reportedly set to play.
The performance would arrive 15 years after McCartney last cancelled his Australian tour dates in the wake of the Bali bombing.
