What is Jj’s vinyl, and how long have you been around? Jj’s vinyl specialises in the sale of newly pressed vinyl records. Initially, I wanted to get rid of some of my double-ups and make room for more records in my collection, but the business has quickly grown. We’ve been around for three years.
When did you first develop your love of records? I’ve been collecting vinyl since I was a teenager but it wasn’t until about seven years ago – when I finally bought myself a decent turntable – that I became obsessed with the medium. The superior sound of vinyl really brings the music to life and sounds the way the artist intended it to be heard.
What is the most prized item in your record collection? The Beatles’ White Album number seven, signed by John Lennon is my most treasured vinyl record in my collection. It was left to me by my dad, so it makes it even more prized.
Is there a record you’ve been hunting for a long time, and are still waiting to find? Smoke & Mirrors by a band called Lifehouse. I own it on CD but really need it on vinyl to complete my collection.
Tell us about vinylrules music and your involvement? Vinylrules music sells pre-loved vinyl records. I personally source all our vinyl from overseas, bulk lots and deceased estates. All the records we sell have been machine cleaned before replacing into new antistatic inner and protective outer sleeves.
