Grab your dancing shoes, because The Bawdies are bringing their Tokyo party to bergy bandroom again this weekend.
Tokyo four-piece The Bawdies came together in 2004 as a group of lifelong mates, and they’ve spent more than 20 years putting their own spin on rock ‘n’ roll, rhythm and blues and soul.
Little Richard and Ray Charles sit among the band’s influences, while vocalist ROY’s powerful voice sits front and centre of the sound. The group has played everywhere from Fuji Rock to Budokan, and their gigs are known for turning into all-out dance floor parties.

The Bawdies are back on Australian soil with their latest album, This Is the Party, released this year.
The run makes three stops: Sydney, Geelong for River Rocks 2026, and Melbourne, where the band wraps things up at The Bergy Band Room on 8 November.
Doors open at 6.30pm. The Pearlies get things moving from 7pm to 7.30pm, before Day Dreamers take over from 7.50pm to 8.20pm. The Bawdies then play from 8.50pm until 10pm. Tickets are $60 online, or $68 and up on the door.
Anyone outside Melbourne can catch the band earlier in the run, with Sydney kicking things off on 6 November and Geelong following on 7 November.
Melbourne is the final night of the three, so it’s the last chance to see The Bawdies on this Aussie run. Expect a set built around rock ‘n’ roll, rhythm and blues and soul, played by a band that’s been doing it together for over two decades.
