Punk pioneers The Saints '73-'78 are heading out for a run of summer shows, with an unearthed 1976 recording in tow.
Half a century on from one of the earliest punk records, The Saints ’73-’78 are touring Australia in 2027, celebrating 50 years since their debut album.
That run follows a late-2025 overseas outing, when founding members Ed Kuepper and Ivor Hay introduced The Saints ’73-’78 to audiences in the US, Sweden and Germany, then returned to the UK for the first time since 1978.

Arriving alongside the shows is Live at Club ’76, a live album drawn from a cassette captured in September 1976 at the band’s Petrie Terrace rehearsal space and makeshift venue, Club ’76. The 15-track set was taped in front of a small crowd of friends, just weeks before the group hit the studio for their debut.
The tape works through much of (I’m) Stranded, early takes on songs that later surfaced on the follow-up Eternally Yours, and a handful of the covers the band was known for. First single L-I-E-S is out now, and the full album lands on 20 November via the band’s website.
Before the local dates, the group crosses to the UK across November and December as special guests on The Damned’s Final Damnation 50th anniversary tour. Kuepper also has a separate string of Exploding Universe of Ed Kuepper shows booked through October and November, taking in the National Theatre in Melbourne on 5 November.
