Canadian singer-songwriter Ruth Moody is bringing her Wanderer Returns Tour back to Australian stages across October 2026, her trio in tow.
A founding member of the Canadian folk trio the Wailin’ Jennys, Ruth Moody has collected two JUNO Awards across a career that shifts between full-band harmony and her own solo work. Her soprano and her songwriting have carried her through sold-out rooms around the world, and this run marks her first return here since her 2025 visit.

The tour takes its name from Wanderer, Moody’s most recent album and a body of work she has framed as a chronicle of the past ten years of her life. It moves through motherhood, love in all its complications and the quiet longing for home, wherever that home happens to sit.
Wanderer follows earlier solo records The Garden and These Wilder Things, the second of which pulled Moody into the orbit of Mark Knopfler. That collaboration took her voice onto European stages including the Royal Albert Hall, where she appeared both as a support act and as part of his band.
This time she travels with her full trio, threading a path through South Australia, Victoria and Queensland. The Victorian leg carries the bulk of the shows, from regional halls in Meeniyan and Castlemaine to a Melbourne stop at Memo Music Hall in St Kilda, with a coastal date at the Westernport Yacht Club rounding out the state.
The run closes north of the border at the Groundwater Country Music Festival, where Moody joins a weekend bill built around country and folk. For anyone who caught the last tour, it’s a chance to hear where the songs have travelled since.
