City of Kingston's beloved foreshore festival serves up two days of live music, local food and beachside vibes

Melbourne’s Teenage Dads are leading the charge on Saturday night. Since dropping Devil’s Jam and Sunburnt, the four-piece have carved out their own lane, blending early-2000s NYC indie grit with ’80s energy pulled from Devo and Talking Heads, plus a hit of Two Door Cinema Club’s explosive pop sensibility. Sharp melodies, tight rhythms and a refusal to play it safe have made them one to watch.
Sunday’s headliner is the legendary Joe Camilleri and The Black Sorrows, delivering more than 40 years of soul, roots and genre-defying songwriting. Fresh off a double-album release and a nationwide tour, Camilleri and his band continue to prove why they’re one of Australia’s most enduring live acts, mixing raw energy with the kind of sophisticated musicianship that only comes from decades on stage.
Saturday’s Pier Stage lineup runs deep with Maddy Jane, Squid The Kid, Five Buck Kid, Suzi, Holly Hebe and Velvet Bloom building up to Teenage Dads’ closing set. Over on the Beach Stage, catch Charlie Needs Braces, Hot Glue, RARIA, PRETTY BLEAK and Jewel Owusu before DJ sets from Retro Red, Moopie and Foura take things late. Sunday sees Cookin On 3 Burners, Queenie, Kee’ahn and Suneden hit the Pier Stage ahead of The Black Sorrows.
Local talent gets the spotlight too, with The Dock stage showcasing homegrown acts both days. Sunday afternoon brings a Battle of the Bands featuring high school crews from Patterson River Secondary, Cheltenham Secondary, Kilbreda, St Bede’s and Mordialloc Secondary going head-to-head for bragging rights.
Food vans, restaurant pop-ups and licensed sites will be scattered across the reserve, so you can fuel up between sets without missing a beat. At just $5 per person or $10 for a family, it’s hard to argue with a full weekend of live music by the water.
