Melbourne’s beloved Afro hip-hop stalwarts Cool Out Sun are taking over the music lounge at Wax this November with the launch of their latest LP, A Lion Is A Lion. The sophomore LP release will see the dynamic duo of Nfa Jones and Sensible J lead the live instrumentation and electrifying vocals that characterise the band’s iconic sound. A mixture of classic hip hop and Afrobeat traditions, West African culture and modern sounds, as well as socially-driven storytelling and infectious hooks, this will be nothing short of an unmissable performance.

It’s all things Afro-Latin rhythms at Wax on this Saturday in November. Inbraza are taking over the stage, bringing along with them the entire club. Go underground at Wax and discover a wild sound journey of tropical bass, cumbia and baile funk. The stellar lineup for this edition of Inbraza boasts none other than the incredible Brina, Haus of Ralph, Maz, Motherfunk, Norbert and Walla C.

Scratch your techno itch with this club night at Wax, presented by Tangle Agency. Connor Wall B2B Neo are headlining the Music Lounge’s bunker with a show that will no doubt captivate all who dare to step down into the sonic space of beats and bangers. Anna Nilsson – a Sweden-born, Naarm-based DJ – will be opening up this massive night, warming the stage for what is gearing up to be a huge night of transcendental music.

In celebration of her debut album, Feels Like Home, JessB is embarking on a journey of discovery to find out what home means. Whether you feel it physically or feel it spiritually, there’s no doubt that you’ll be feeling right at home at JessB’s Wax show on November 21.

Amphi and friends are capping off November with a very special show that is set to bring Interimm, Bex and Mo centre stage at the underground rave space. Back home after playing overseas, Interimm are gearing up to set Wax alight in anticipation of an epic summer with massive milestones on the horizon with a live performance showing off their iconic blend of deep, driving and hypnotic techno. Join the crew as Amphi goes B2B with Mo. Bex is also set to flaunt her expert selection that will no doubt send November off with a bang.

Wax is celebrating the diversity of London nightlife with this event that also draws inspiration from all corners of the globe. Throw your circadian rhythm right out of whack with Wax Music Lounge’s Monday evenings in the basement. Prepare yourself to journey through time and space as Wax’s weekly special guests whisk you away with improvised jazz to soundtrack your adventures. The all-star musicians behind the Circadian Rhythms band includes Felix Meredith (trumpet), Bryce ‘Odyssey’ Zelno (drums) and Jesse Chin-Quan (bass). Better yet, after Happy Hour finishes at 7pm, Wax will be slinging $2 pots until the keg runs out.

Mellowdías Thump

Hump day this November is sorted as every Wednesday this month is a chilled-out lounge hang hosted by Wax’s Mellowdías Thump. Pretend it’s the weekend from Wednesday onwards with producers performing live beat sets from their samplers and a resident DJs spinning a healthy dose of classic and underground hip-hop and future soul. With free entry and Wax’s famed Happy Hour from 5-7pm, there’s no excuse not to be there.

Stuck for plans on a Sunday night? Get unstuck with Wax Music Lounge’s weekly Wax Museum Records and Pals. This free Sunday event will see Wax’s crew and friends deliver an evening of electrifying sonic transportation as they offer the deep cuts and unknown gems hiding away in their vinyl crates. An underground world that will open up a portal through sound, there’s little about Wax’s Sundays you can say no to.
