From an evening with FINAL FANTASY’s Naoki Yoshida to Unholy Matrimonies, there’s something for everyone at Melbourne International Games Week 2024.

Creative Victoria is thrilled to announce new additions to the program for the 10th anniversary edition of Melbourne International Games Week (MIGW), running from 3 to 13 October 2024.

New Additions (by date):

  • The Queer Games Festival Showcase (now until Sunday 13 October)
    Fans can explore over 60 of this year’s best games created by LGBTIQA+ developers from around the world. This showcase features a variety of genres, from coming-of-age tales to gay horror stories and lesbian platformers, ensuring there’s something for everyone.
  • Blood on the Clocktower at Gameology (Saturday 5 October)
    Join five to twenty players for a game of murder and mystery at Gameology Brunswick. Participants will work together to solve the mystery while evil players attempt to sow distrust and eliminate the village.
  • An Evening with Naoki Yoshida (Tuesday 8 October)
    This exclusive keynote event features the renowned Square Enix game developer behind FINAL FANTASY and Dragon Quest. Gain insights from Yoshida’s three decades of experience, including his work on FINAL FANTASY XIV and the evolving landscape of MMO games. This event is a must for video game enthusiasts.
  • FINAL FANTASY XIV Fan Celebration (Wednesday 9 October)
    Fed Square will host 300 fans for a celebration of FINAL FANTASY XIV. The event includes a raffle, themed drinks, special guests, and activities for both veterans and new players of the acclaimed MMORPG.
  • The ARC Mentor Program Game Showcase (Friday 11–Sunday 13 October)
    As part of PAX Aus at the Table, this showcase offers a chance to meet the 2024 ARC TTRPG Mentor Program mentees and play their games in development. Discover the next generation of Australian game creators and their creative journeys.
  • INDOCTRINATE: A Cult of the Lamb Party (Friday 11 October)
    For one night only, an old church will transform into a venue for an 18+ party celebrating the start of PAX. Experience live performances from River Boy, DJ Macintosh, James Audent, The Omega Point, and Plastiq, along with the monstrous creations of Golden Scissor Puppets and themed elixirs from Gospel & Grog.
  • In an Unholy Matrimony: Cult of the Lamb Wedding Rituals (Sunday 13 October)
    Massive Monster will host two Cult of the Lamb weddings at PAX Aus, where devoted couples will marry in a life-size replica of the Cult of the Lamb Temple. Celebrate with the happy couples as they tie the knot in these unique ceremonies.
