A weekend Filipino food and culture fiesta comes to Melbourne this April

Special Events Melbourne

One of Melbourne Food & Wine Festival’s most treasured pillars, Special Events, returns this for the first time in four years.

Presented by The Entree.Pinays, Seafood, Stars and Stories at Seafarers comes to Docklands for a weekend of great food and cultural celebration over the weekend of April 1 and 2.

Stay up to date with what’s happening in and around Melbourne here.

From north to south, east to west, big-ticket fine dining to low-key and well-loved, the Special Events program takes in everything we love about eating in Melbourne and spins it into a red-hot edit of one-off menus and sure-fire good times. It’s the heart and soul of the Festival, and a highlight promises to be Seafood, Stars and Stories at Seafarers – a Filipino barrio fiesta by the sea presented by The Entree.Pinays.

Taking place on the festival’s final weekend on Saturday, April 1 and Sunday, April 2, Seafood, Stars and Stories at Seafarers will celebrate Filipino cuisine, culture and the community at Melbourne’s historic Mission to Seafarers in Docklands.

Those who purchase tickets will be able to experience a delicious menu by some of Melbourne’s best Filipino culinary talent all in one destination.

In true Filipino style, dive hands-first into their catch of the day: a Seafood Kamayan Plate of sustainable local produce, plus an exciting menu of colourful street food favourites such as Hoy Pinoy Bbq skewers, Silog Shop rice bowls, lechon (spit-roasted pig), Boba Bar taho, and halo halo by Pecks Road (a cold dessert made up of shaved ice, evaporated milk, and colourful medley of leche flan, ube jam, and crispy rice puffs), and pantry staples from Sweet Cora Cakes.

Seafood, Stars and Stories at Seafarers MFWF Event takes on April 1 to 2 at Mission to Seafarers, 717 Flinders St, Docklands. Tickets can be found here
