Taking Back Sunday and The Used have announced a huge co-headlining tour of Australia. After taking their combined bill on the road throughout the USA, they’re bringing the good vibes to us. Both bands have a new album under their belt and both are renowned for excellent live shows so paying $69 for a ticket to see them at 170 Russell on Sunday August 24 is totally justified.
Excellent NZ-based hardcore band Shitripper are returning to our shores this month, playing a couple of shows in our fine city. See them on Friday May 23 at Wrangler Studios with Caged Grave, Hailgun, Diploid and Stuck Below. OR head to The Bendigo to see them alongside Party Vibez, Hailgun, Removalist and Atomic Death Squad.
Remember late last year when Forever Came Calling were supposed to tour and they canned that shit mere moments before arriving? Now they’ve stayed true to their word and will tour with Trophy Eyes and Anchors around the country. Next hosts them in Melbourne on Thursday August 28 or check out the underage gig at Wrangler on Friday August 29. Tickets are available now.
Meanwhile, moar pop punk is headed our way with UK punkers Neck Deep and US band State Champs announcing a co-headlining tour for September. Sidelines will join on all dates including the Melbourne show at The Evelyn on Saturday September 6 and the Tape Deck Festival show on Sunday September 7 (AA). Get tickets from Thursday May 15.
Anberlin are making one last trip to Australia to say goodbye to their Aussie fans. “We want to do this differently than a lot of bands we’ve seen where they just end up falling flat, hating each other. So in 2014 we are going to release our final record and tour the world one more time,” their singer Stephen announced last year. VIP tickets have sold the fuck out but you can see grab general tickets now. Melbourne’s show takes place at the almighty Forum on Tuesday September 9 with special guests The Getaway Plan.
Perth punx Faim are touring on the back of their new single Means To Their Ends. They’re chucking two Melbourne launches. One at The Bendigo on Wednesday May 28 and the other at Footscray’s Reverence Hotel on Thursday May 29.
Anchors and Thesis have revealed some east coast dates for this June. They’ve hooked up a near lineup at Wrangler on June 8 with Your Weight In Gold and Satellites and then The Bendigo the same evening with The Sinking Teeth, Outlines and Brittle Bones. Keen.
