Lights off, music on.
On Saturday March 28 at 8pm, people around the world will turn off their lights for this year’s Earth Hour. To help people stay connected and be part of Earth Hour, WWF-Australia has launched #EarthHourLive, a live streamed party for the planet.
While the public Earth Hour events have been cancelled in accordance with new government regulations around social distancing to stop the spread of coronavirus, the live streamed event will bring live crosses to lights out from around the country, performances, special guests and giveaways.
A bunch of Australian musicians have jumped on board, too, with #EarthHourLive set to feature performances from Jack River, Polish Club, Alice Skye, Bobby Alu, Ella Haber and Dulcie, with more acts still to be announced.
“Staying connected as a community and looking for positive ways we can contribute is more important than ever as the world responds to the coronavirus crisis,” said WWF-Australia CEO Dermot O’Gorman.
“We’re thrilled to have so many incredible artists getting onboard with us to bring #EarthHourLive to Australia. We hope you’ll join us on Saturday night and show your support for
Earth Hour in a new way,” he said.
