If you could assassinate one person or band from popular music, who would it and why?

“Starts with K, ends in E.”

So then, what’s the band name and what do you ‘do’ in the band?

“The band is called The Skylines (and no, it’s not about the car), it’s about the excitement of the city, nightlife etc. I play guitar and come up with bizarre ideas for taking over the planet with funk music.”

Bearing the terrible clichéd nature of this question, what do you reckon people will say you sound like?

“Hmm, probably a mix between Stevie Wonder, Hendrix and Sly & The Family Stone.

What do you love about making music?

“The energy!”

What do you hate about the music industry?

“That it’s not bigger than the sporting industry.”

If you could travel back in time and show one of your musical heroes your stuff, who would it be and why?

“It would have to be sitting in with James Brown and band, just to see if I could get through a set without getting fined!”

If you could assassinate one person or band from popular music, who would it and why?

“Starts with K, ends in E.”

What can a punter expect from your live show?

“Lots and lots of sax, funky bass, loud guitars, wild keyboard solos, huge male funk vocals and even bigger drum solos.”

What’ve you got to sell CD-wise?

“We have our first EP (Right Track) which is available at any of our live shows, plus we have our new full length album available at the launch. We also have seven inch special edition vinyl singles specifically for the single launch of Skylines Groove.

When’s the gig and with who?

“Australia Day, at The Evelyn. Lyndal Barry And The Apollos are special guests and we also have a new jazz/funk band called Rush Of Colour playing support. “

Anything else to add?

“Get up ya funky people…we on fire…”
