So then, w hat’s the band name and what do you ‘do’ in the band?

Jim: Bass and vocals, Tom: Guitar and vocals, Josh: Drums and vocals. Together we are Sheriff.

Bearing the terrible clichéd nature of this question, what do you reckon people will say you sound like ?

Jim: People will say it’s rock and roll but we like to think of it as Southern-psychedelic-horror-blues-rock.

What do you love about making music?

Thomas: Having the public hear songs you have written and seeing them enjoy it. Feels pretty swell to make somebody dance.

What do you hate about the music industry?

Josh: The music industry and the hair. I guess what I don’t enjoy about the industry the most is the mediocrity in a lot of the music that is in the spotlight. There’s a lot of amazing bands out there working their arses off and playing some killer music but not necessarily getting the recognition they deserve. That’s just the way it goes though.

If you could travel back in time and show one of your musical heroes your stuff, who would it be and why?

Thomas: Led Zeppelin, because they’re Led Zeppelin!

If you could assassinate one person or band from popular music, who would it and why?

Jim: Bono because he’s too old to be wearing sunglasses all of the time.

What can a punter expect from your live show?

Tom: Having not released our debut EP yet, our live show is what we have based our reputation on so far. It’s wild, it pounds at your ears and eyes and awakes your screaming primal instincts conjuring the need to be amongst the insanity! The punter can expect to enjoy some good tunes while having a boogie and some beverages. They can expect to yell at us, be yelled at by us, be sweated on by us, be turned on and off by us at the same time, be captivated, laugh, probably not cry, have a bloody good time and hopefully leave the venue a new fan of Sheriff.

What’ve you got to sell CD-wise?

Josh: If you come to the single launch you’ll be able to purchase our debut single What You Want, which is taken from our upcoming debut EP.

When’s the gig and with who?

Jim: The single launch is at Revolver on Saturday October 22. To help add fuel to the fire, special guests Death Valley Mustangs and Tanks (formally known as Thomy & The Tanks) will have you stomping holes in the floor and dancing until your feet bleed.

.

Anything else to add?

Tom: Revolver October 22. Do it. Put on your dancin’ shoes and cowboy boots and come witness what is sure to be one of the most memorable nights of rock and roll in recent history.Jump on www.facebook.com/wearesheriff to hear the single.
