60 Seconds With Hazmat

So then, what’s the band name and what do you ‘do’ in the band?

Hazmat Jay – lead vocal, lead guitar.

Bearing the terrible clichéd nature of this question, what do you reckon people will say you sound like?

Old school thrash.

What do you love about making music?

It’s in me ,it’s my best friend and my worst enemy, it’s a vent for my frustration and a cause for my angst but nothing compares with seeing people get off on something you’ve created.

What do you hate about the music industry?

I don’t believe that I hate anything but I will say that it’s a fickle beast. Costs a hell of a lot to try and have a shot at living your dream.

If you could travel back in time and show one of your musical heroes your stuff, who would it be and why?

Jeff Howard manager of Neophobia because he got music. His taste was impeccable.

What can a punter expect from your live show?

Intensity, professionalism, integrity and we have the duck factor (calculated insanity).

What’re you selling?

Our debut self titled album Hazmat and a wide range of merchandise to support the album.

When’s the gig and with who?

Friday September 9 at The Tote with In Malice’s Wake, Desecrator, Mason and Blackened.

Anything else to add?

We are very excited to play in Melbourne and honoured to be able to play this show with such great talent. Get down to the show and support Australian music. Metal is the Law
